Our Story

Welcome to The Bottom of the Fifth, Benicia's oldest bar! The BOTF is a family-owned business. Owner Bruce Adams has operated on Military East since 1990, and his son Sam is seen around pretending to bartend occasionally. He co-owned and operated JM's (with partner Jimmy McInerney) on First street for ten years before moving to the current location. Not that he didn't have prior experience, working for HIS father, Harold Adams, owner of the Towne Club from 1961 until 1979 at 500 First Street. Bruce's grandfather, George Wolff, was the owner of the City Drug Store on 801 First St from the early 1930's until 1975. So, you could say the family has been medicating Benicia for over 80 years!

Our mission: To provide Benicia with a clean, comfortable, safe place to socialize. On top of that, we also strive to offer great food and drinks for a reasonable price. There is no reason to provide sub-par food, and we will have Fresh, Quality ingredients, even for something as simple as a cheeseburger. Fresh fries, not frozen. No frozen burger patties. House made soups and chili. Breakfast on the weekends. Specials everyday - including holidays. WE DON'T OWN A FREEZER!!!

We Show all MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, College Football, NCAA Basketball, Rugby, Soccer, Golf, Horse Racing, and whatever else we might be able to find on DirecTV! We Also Have: 8 HDTVs, 2 Pool Tables, Outdoor Patio, Full Menu, Full Bar Licensed, 4 beers on tap.
